What's the Radalink Difference?
When it comes to real estate transactions, our radon inspectors deliver the win.

Don't Become a Victim of a Radon Scam

Depend on the inspector integrity, the highly accurate equipment, and the independent laboratory analysis you get with a Radalink radon test.

Whether you are buying or selling a house, there is going to be a decision made before closing about testing for deadly radon gas.

In some residential real estate transactions, a radon test is required by law. Unfortunately, this important test presents a ripe opportunity for bad actors to scam unwitting buyers or sellers.

Here's How the Scams Work
Most home inspectors are honest and hard-working, serving the best interest of occupants and homeowners. However, some dishonest inspectors have been known to manipulate radon test data to show a "false high" to benefit themselves or their cohorts, who will promise to "fix" any radon problem "found". This leaves home sellers paying for unneeded mitigation systems, and can sometimes derail a home sale all together.

Even worse, it has been found that some inspectors or home sellers will attempt to manipulate or tamper with the radon test in progress to produce a "false low" radon measurement. They can benefit from having a home "pass" its radon test to quickly close the sale, without suffering delay or cost of installing a radon mitigation system. By not properly informing the buyers that a radon mitigation system is required to protect them from radon danger in the home, their inaction amounts to criminal negligence.

Radon Kills People
The moment a home is being tested for radon is a terrible time for residents to suffer fraudulent manipulation of the test. That's because radon is so invisible and deadly, killing over 21,000 U.S. residents per year. Residents are literally counting on an honest and accurate radon inspection to know their risk and any need to mitigate that risk -- for residents it is a matter of life and death.

Avoiding the Radon Scams
At Radalink, we have been offering a radon testing solution to home inspectors for over 30 years that eliminates all chances of buyers or sellers being caught up in a radon scam.

How do we do it? Radalink operates as an independent, certified, NRPP/NRSB radon laboratory. We lease highly accurate radon testing equipment to home inspectors, who follow strict testing protocols while running short-term residential radon tests on our equipment. The inspector uploads encrypted data securely to our laboratory at the end of the test period.

The home inspector can never see or manipulate the encrypted test data, and our equipment can detect tampering and protocol-violating changes in environmental conditions. Furthermore, the analysis of the data is done by a person at our lab and compiled into a report delivered directly to you. We do all of the "science work" for our home inspectors to both help them, and to protect you.
